Improvement of productive systems through solar PV electrification in the Community Khirbet Birin/Hebron - Workshop within the Birin PV Solar project, Palestine, 28-29 September 2016

The Birin PV solar project, supported by AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development) and SEBA has been completed and has been in operation since earlier 2016.  TTA carried out the feasibility study, design, engineering and works supervision of three micro grids and 9 domestic PV plants in the community of Birin.  Within this project, the Energy Research Center ERC at An-Najah National University and UAWC organized this Workshop that was held at the University campus in Nablus.  It sought to highlight the development of PV projects in Palestine, with particular focus on the Birin project, good practices of small PV plants, monitoring and assessment of PV plant’s performance, community energy management for sustainability of rural electrification of projects and the Birin project phases.  Maria Anzizu, Project engineer of TTA, made a presentation:  “Lessons learned and critical success factors for the deployment of micro grids”.

On the 29th of September, an official inauguration ceremony of the Birin PV Solar rural electrification project took place with the participation of AECID, local authorities and members of Birin community.
